The open field in front of the Erfurter Hut is used as a launch site for paragliders. All respect to the girls and boys who dare to do this.

There is a small hill directly in front of the Mauritz Alm. This is where the paragliders take off. It is definitely worth stopping to watch. By the way, a tip:
When you are sitting on the Alm, an employee/pilot comes by every now and then and offers guests a tandem flight at a reduced price. But I suspect that it depends a lot on the season and the current number of visitors.

The wind conditions at Achensee are special. Pay special attention to the valley wind. The site is located on the Gschöllkopf on the soot of the Rofan. From here you also have a wonderful view of the Achensee.
