The Schauinsland ascent from Oberried is more varied than that from Günterstal, both in terms of landscape and the incline - here you first roll along easily up to the St. Wilhelmer Tal with a moderate incline, but then it picks up significantly and up to Hofsgrund you reach up to 12 percent , the only slightly flatter passage is just after Steinwasen Park. The traffic is quite heavy on both routes, although between Steinwasenpark and Hofsgrund or the summit you have the best chance of rest.

A beautiful and varied climb to the Schauinsland. There are several ways to reach the Schauinsland from this side, but this climb is the best. It starts on a road with moderate gradients. After the first steep sections, you leave the main road, followed by a few challenging kilometers before the route flattens out somewhat. The toughest section has a gradient of 14%.

In front of the Schauinsland, however, you first have to go up to the emergency cry. At the top of the pass you can then turn right to the Schauinsland. The ascent is significantly more difficult than from Freiburg directly to the Schauinsland.
