The bridge, originally dating back to the 13th century, has had to be renovated several times throughout its history. The current bridge was inaugurated in 2012 and is a reconstruction based on the historical model, with the number of piers reduced from 13 to 10.

However, the overall visual impression of the bridge is disappointing. It doesn't look like a "historical model," but rather a modern, historicizing one. It's all just a bit of a facade.

I also think the curbs are too high.

Definitely worth a detour. There are occasional snack stands along the shore, or you can head straight to the nearby ice cream parlors in town.

There's relatively little traffic at this point.

The Old Main Bridge in Ochsenfurt is a multi-arched stone bridge that spans the River Main at river kilometer 271.18[1] and connects the town of Ochsenfurt with the district of Kleinochsenfurt. It has a lane for passenger vehicles with a maximum gross weight of 3.5 tons heading into the city, and for cyclists in both directions, as well as an upstream sidewalk. The structure, whose core dates back to the Middle Ages, is one of the most important large bridges from this period in Germany and is listed as a historic monument in the Bavarian Register of Historic Monuments.
