The path leads on a dike around the reserve basin. You should be aware of this on a windy or stormy day, because you are exposed to the wind without protection. There are good bird watching opportunities here. Now, at the end of July, I was able to observe many wild geese.

If the circumnavigation of the Alfsee is too long or too turbulent for you, you can alternatively circumnavigate the reserve basin on the dike within an hour and have wonderful views of the nature reserve inside the basin as well as the meadows and forests outside. If you like it longer, you can also go directly around the Alfsee.
