Kastelholm (Swedish: Kastelholms slott, Finnish: Kastelholma) is a medieval castle in Sund, on the Finnish archipelago of Åland. The castle-like castle was built on a small island surrounded by a moat filled with piles. Kastelholm is very important for the history of Åland and is now a tourist attraction. The building, which dates back to the 14th century, is one of the oldest on the island. One wing of the castle houses the Cultural History Museum of the Swedish-speaking Åland Islands.

Right next to the castle are the Jan Karlsgården open-air museum and the Vita Björn prison museum.

The castle, which originally was used as a defence stronghold, was founded in the end of the 1300’s. The stronghold was then rebuilt at different times until the 1600’s when it had become a castle with mainly an administrative function. At the end of the 1600’s the castle was left to dilapidate. The castle has now been restored and is open for visitors.
