Nicolai Church. Lutheran. Congregational Church. Newly built in 1897. Naming indicates a great importance of Wilsdruff as a location on an important trade and traffic route. The Jakobikirche testifies to this. Wilsdruff is located on the Saxon Jakobsweg.

St. Nicholas Church in Wilsdruff, located on the church square.

Information:

It likely dates back to the early 13th century. The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for the new church took place on May 26, 1896, and the consecration was held on September 20, 1897. Despite repeated damage, particularly from town fires, some remnants of the original structure had survived in the building that existed until 1896. One of these remnants, a portal probably created in the first quarter of the 13th century, was incorporated into the tower vestibule of the new building as an interior portal.
