It is a sublime feeling to walk through this gate on the 4th day on the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu.

Inti Punku (Sun Gate) is a former checkpoint on a narrow ridge. The climb is worth it, because you have a wonderful view over Machu Pichu. Walking time approx. 45 min

After four days on the Inca Trail...in the rain...many of our team members had diarrhea...some had problems with altitude/altitude sickness; sometimes we had to carry two or more backpacks on top of each other to relieve the burden on the others...it was an incredible feeling to arrive here and make our way through the gates of heaven.
