It was built as an office building under the nobles of Neudeck as a residence and also served as a stables, archive, coach house and granary. From 1870 the forestry office was located here.
The state police station has also been located here since 2004.
In May 2019, the forest office was closed as a branch of the Heilbronn district forest office.
