The "GREIF" is a steel schooner brig or brigantine. At the front foremast she leads square sails. Slant sails are used on the rear main mast. The ship can reach a speed of around 14 knots (26 km / h).
A bow thruster assists maneuvering in narrow port entrances.
Germanischer Lloyd has classified the "Greif".
In 1991, the Seeberufsgenossenschaft issued the sailing license as a training ship / sailing training ship. The ship is equipped according to the current safety regulations and equipped with the most modern navigation devices.
