From the castle is not much left, but an absolute highlight. Hard to reach, but worth the effort. The fire salamander must be the lord of the castle.

The castle ruin Heinrichsburg stands on a narrow rock spur south of the Vatersteins about 1.5 kilometers east of Neustadt. It is located a few hundred meters east of the Felsentor and rises about 50 meters over the valley. The only documentary mention of the Heinrichsburg dates back to 1344. It was at the time in the possession of Count von Hohnstein.
Due to the few recognizable ruins, the ruin can only be seen at second glance.
The descent on the narrow trail down to the post office makes a whim 👌🏻.
