Yürüyüş

The approximately 25-hectare Schwerin palace garden is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in northern Germany. The Schwerin Palace Garden was originally laid out as a pleasure garden based on the French model.

From 1748 it was given its present form. This includes the cross channel, which was created as the centerpiece according to designs by the garden architect Jean Legeay. In the middle of the 19th century, the park was then expanded to include greenhouse gardens, kitchen gardens and the riparian zones based on the English model.

At this point the surface is not paved, but it is compacted so well that you can skate here. You have a view of the castle and the swing bridge.

The swing bridge enabled the traffic with cargo cranes between the Schweriner Innerensee and the Burgsee, in which there was a port. It was operated by hand. Today the bridge is no longer in operation, except of course that you can walk over it. On some occasions the bridge is opened as a spectacle.
