The Zippendorfer Strand is the “city beach” of Schwerin. There is little going on here in the cooler months, but even more so on hot days. There are a few places to stop for refreshments near the beach.

Schwerin is the city of lakes and forests. So you can get to any lake from anywhere in Schwerin within ten minutes. The main beach in Schwerin is that in Zippendorf. The beach promenade consists of flat cobblestones with very narrow joints, so that you can skate here very well. However, when the weather is good, the beach is very crowded in summer, especially in the afternoons. Skating on the promenade can be difficult.

From here you have a beautiful view of the old town and the island of Kanienchenwerder.
