Campismos - Simple accommodations for nature lovers
There are no campsites in Cuba as we know them from the European area. Camping and sleeping in caravans are not very common in Cuba, and there is no infrastructure for that.
But there are so-called "Campismos" all over the country, small hamlet villages with different and usually very simple comfort. Most of them are managed by the Cuban agency Cubamar and originally served mainly national tourism.
However, about 15 of them have been bookable for international tourism in the last 20 years and most of these sites are very scenic.
