The Saarhölzbach valley is a wonderful area for your hikes. The landscape is lush green, you will always come across beautiful rest areas and can switch off completely and enjoy nature. On the way you will always see weathered boundary stones that once marked the border between the Saar region and Germany.

About the "Historical Border Line":
On a 2-kilometer-long stretch there is an accurate row of historical border stones that mark the course of the border between Saarland and Germany between 1920 and 1935.
The further course is carved on the top, so you can always see where you should find the next border stone.
The corresponding country is carved on the sides with D and S.
