Beautiful nature reserve, especially the descent to the crater lake has it in itself :)
The entrance can be seen from the parking lot on the right, about 50 m.
A guide is not necessary in my opinion.
Mosquito spray and sturdy shoes I would recommend.
Attention: it goes off steeply :)

Very nice panoramic view over the half islands. Otherwise, the view of the crater is nothing special .. In the Eifel one has beautiful funnels of this kind.
