The station Leuenberg connected Leuenberg from 1898 on the Wriezener train with Berlin, with Wriezen and the Königsberg in the Neumark (now Chojna). Since 1998, the section between Tiefensee and Wriezen, on which Leuenberg lies, is no longer served. Since 2000, on the short section Tiefensee-Leuenberg-Sternebeck, there is the possibility to make trips with the Draisinenbahn Tiefensee, so that the route - albeit sparsely - is used again for excursion trips.

There are always rumors about a resumption of operations on the Wriezener Bahn through the region. However, there are currently no concrete plans to reactivate passenger traffic on the route between Werneuchen and Wriezen. Nevertheless, the Werneuchen - Wriezen section is on the list of VDV routes that are worth reactivating with priority B.
Because of the draisine operation, the route to Sternebeck is still in relatively good condition.
