The Stollwerck mausoleum was built in 1927 by Consul General Karl Stollwerck, the son of the founder of the Cologne chocolate factory. The building is primarily the burial place of Carl Stollwerck, his wife Fanny and their adopted daughter Carlita. Stollwerck himself expressly stipulated that his last resting place should also serve as a place of worship for the evangelical Christians in the Mangfall Valley. For this reason, he had the mausoleum equipped with a small organ made by Ernst Seifert, which is still used today at regular Protestant services.
