    The Gilchinger Wildmoos is located in the municipality of Gilching, Starnberg district, between the Jexhof Farm Museum (near Schöngeising, Fürstenfeldbruck district) and Gilching, east of the settlement island around the Jexhof.

    The Wildmoos has been designated a 38-hectare nature reserve since 1979. It is part of the 775-hectare FFH area "Moors and Beech Forests between Etterschlag and Schöngeising."
