The former Cistercian monastery existed from 1230 to 1536. The Reformation contributed as in many places to its dissolution. Today, you can walk through the former monastery grounds and admire the remaining fountains, the nave, the Fuchsturm and the exposed foundations of the former monastery church.

Grünhain Monastery was a Cistercian abbey in Grünhain in the Saxon Ore Mountains, which existed from 1230 to 1536 and is now only preserved in ruins.

Here you can imagine life in the monastery. The nave, fountain and the fox tower of the former monastery still exist. The foundation walls of the former monastery church have been exposed. There are beds with medicinal plants and herbs in the monastery garden. Behind the monastery garden, a hiking trail leads towards Schatzenstein and Zwönitzquelle.
