The construction of the Apollinaris Church was financed by Franz Egon Freiherr von Fürstenberg-Stammheim. He commissioned the building at the beginning of the 19th century and hired Ernst Friedrich Zwirner for the architectural design. Thanks to his support, this impressive building was built, which is now considered one of the most beautiful neo-Gothic churches on the Rhine.

The Apollinaris Church in Remagen was built in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style. It stands on the foundations of a medieval church and was designed by the architect Ernst Friedrich Zwirner, who also worked on the Cologne Cathedral. It is known for its impressive frescoes and Gothic details, which give the church its unique character.
