This used to be the border point of the dioceses of Regensburg, Prague and Naumburg. Today this is the border point between Germany and the Czech Republic.

The Dreirainsteine (Czech tři šutry) are three adjacent old landmarks on the current border with the Czech Republic. The exact reason why they were put there can only be guessed. Probably they mark the former border point between the bishoprics of Regensburg, Naumburg-Zeitz and Prague, or even the triangle between Bavaria, Bohemia and Saxony from 1165 to 1348.

The Dreirainsteine indicated the former border point of the three dioceses of Regensburg, Naumburg and Prague, and later the triangle between the domains of Nostiz, Schönbach and the Electorate of Saxony. Now the boundary between Erlbach, Zwota and the Czech Republic is located here.
