The Ancient Theatre of Ohrid is located in Ohrid, North Macedonia.[1] Built in 200 BC, it is the only theatre of Hellenistic type in the country, as the other three in Scupi, Stobi and Heraklea Lynkestis date from the Roman period. It is unclear how many people the original theatre accommodated, as only the lower part still exists. The open theatre has a perfect location: the two hills that surround it protect it from winds that could affect the acoustics during performances. It was built in the late 3rd or early 2nd century BC, during the Late Hellenistic period.
