Parts of the Luther film were also shot on the market square in Ummerstadt. The sloping marketplace and the well-preserved half-timbered houses provided the necessary environment for this. Numerous scenery constructions/changes to buildings and the fountain were made for this purpose, so that everything looks medieval. I have attached a picture of it. The fountain is completely boarded up and serves as a pedestal for the indulgence dealer. He speaks to the fictional community of Jüterborg.

The five fountains that still exist in the city today earned Ummerstadt the nickname "Five Fountain City". A short walk to the 16th-century arched bridge that crosses the Rodach River is also worthwhile. You can reach the WOM cycle path over this bridge.

All around very beautiful half-timbered houses and some sights. Parts of the Luther film were filmed there, the reason for this was the sloping market square and the well-preserved surroundings with the numerous half-timbered houses.
