The Rendsburger Stadtsee is a lake about three and a half hectares in size and up to one and a half meters deep. It was created during the construction of the Kiel Canal in 1893.

This path leads along the north side of the city lake - westwards to the Untereider. The Rendsburger Stadtsee is about 3.5 hectares and up to 1.5 m deep. It was created in 1893 when the Kiel Canal was being built.
The construction of a sluice lowered the water level of the Obereider, so that the old town lost its original island location. The city lake is the remainder of the Holstengraben on the former island. The lake was completely cut off from the Obereider in 1910 by further construction work.
