This former watchtower, also known as the Stork Tower or Long Tower, is a 25 meter high defense tower built on the city wall. It is built with half-timbered gables and a pointed ridge turret and contains the so-called poor sinner bell of the lower gate.

Very nice city gate with a few old Swedish cannons as decoration and a small museum. The name suggests that the city gate is also a popular breeding ground for storks and that there are actually several stork nests upstairs. If you go through the gate into the city, you can see another stork's nest on the town hall and the historic chancellery building on the northern end of the square.
