Foxt church was built in 1839 in an uncompromising square style with a tower. It is small enough to be intimate though it has none of the theatrical beauty of older churches with their pillars, arches and memorials. For some obscure reason, the church was not consecrated until 1899, and was used firstly by the Methodists before they built their own chapel in 1859, and shortly by the school before Foxt school was built by public subscription in 1877.
