The museum village is definitely worth a visit. Even better with a guided tour. Because in this case you understand the buildings and the customs of that time as well as some old sayings such as:

"He's filthy rich!"

Critters in the house, dung heaps right at the entrance - rain and everything was messed up. Those who could afford it laid out the entrance area with stones. And was filthy rich with it.

Our destination in Cloppenburg was the Soeste, we wanted to follow it out of town. We did not visit Cloppenburg itself. At a side entrance to the museum village, which is well worth seeing, we are a bit through the small city park and have then reached the Soeste. We followed the little "brook" out of town. A highlight for us, we saw kingfishers several times!
