Diktamos is certainly special for purists. But you have to admit that balancing on the dry riverbed without a path is extremely strenuous. You also have to be extremely careful not to twist your ankle. There are two climbing spots, otherwise it is not difficult. We turned back about halfway because it would have been too long otherwise.
You have to get back to Stilos somehow and that is quite remote.
I thought it was a nice way to end the day though. We didn't meet anyone. The oleander was blooming again in abundance.
