There is something going on at the market place in Wernigerode. On the one hand, there are of course plenty of restaurants and cafes - perfect for a little break and to strengthen before it goes up in the direction of Brocken. But here are the sights of the small town on the edge of the Harz together. There would be the old city wall, the "smallest house", the "crooked house" or the Nicolaiplatz very close. The picturesque half-timbered houses all around are an eye-catcher anyway.

The historic market square with the town hall, the Benefactor's Fountain and the Gothic House forms the centre of Wernigerode. A very popular tourist hotspot and photo magnet.
