The Klever Gate, an impressive three-story city gate from the 14th century, is a relic of the old city fortifications. Two round towers, the so-called owl towers, flank the first gate opening from the side facing away from the city. A bridge-like driveway, which used to be over the city moat, leads to the main gate.

The square building was used for many purposes over the centuries; at times it served as a prison. Today holidaymakers can spend the night there. Once you climb the spiral stairs, you can enjoy beautiful views of the city.
