New mill was first mentioned as water mill 1303. In 1325 it belonged to the hospital "Sankt Spiritus" Perleberg. In 1843 the mill was converted into a mill with four American style grinders. In 1930 it burned down completely. In 1938, the city of Perleberg rebuilt it as a restaurant. 1994 closed and sold again. In 1996 it was reopened after renovation.

Every day, fully stocked barges, originally from the Spreewald, dock at the front door of the Neue Mühle. The inmates of the barges can look forward to the regional cuisine of the restaurant. But also for walkers, cyclists and anglers, the Neue Mühle with a large terrace directly on the Stepenitz is a popular destination. For self-drive there is a pedal boat and a canoe rental. If necessary, the traveler can pitch his tent.
