Those who work with fish daily also have a very special relationship with the animals. Environmental protection and species conservation are therefore a matter of course for DAN LACHS GmbH and its employees, not only for economic but also for ecological reasons. Only those who understand the peculiarities of aquatic life can optimally contribute to preserving nature.

Thus, Lake Suhr, the cleanest lake in Schleswig-Holstein, has become the property of DAN LACHS GmbH. The University of Hamburg, for example, develops and conducts research here, the results of which contribute to maintaining a healthy environment.

In the diverse underwater world, the lake with its distinctive vegetation provides a habitat for a wide variety of animal and fish species such as moray eels, eels, trout, perch, pike, zander, catfish, sturgeon and crustaceans. Many of them are adapted to the nutrient-poor conditions. The lack of nutrients ensures clear water, so that in places you can see the extensive underwater grass areas up to a depth of over five meters. The exotic plant life also includes various and sometimes very rare pondweeds and stoneworts.
