The Eisee is embedded in a high valley surrounded by mountains between the 2348 m high Brienzer Rothorn in the west and the 2216 m high Arnihaggen in the east. The rest areas are ideal for a break when climbing from Schönenboden to the Rothorn. When the weather is calm (little wind), the surrounding mountains are fascinatingly reflected in the lake.
