The "Castle" is actually a villa, but is nevertheless beautifully situated on the banks of the Scheldt. Until 1900 there was a shipyard here, then the entrepreneur Eugène Burm built a timber trade and specialized in wood for the construction of railways, telephones and telegraphs. The villa from 1902 is reminiscent of an English cottage and is situated in a spacious and well-kept garden, in which a number of company buildings in an adapted style are also included.

Villa built on the site of the shipyard of Eugène Burm on the Scheldt bank. Construction entrepreneur E. Burm started a shipbuilding company in 1876 on the site of the construction company of the Burm family. After the shipyard closed down in 1900, E. Burm set up a large timber trade, specialising in timber for railway construction, telephone and telegraphy. He had a villa and a large service building built on the site, including an office for the timber trade. After the death of Eugène Burm in 1933, the trading activity here was stopped.
