"... The Wehebach, also called Wehe, is a 25.7 km long river in the urban region of Aachen and in the district of Düren in western North Rhine-Westphalia. The Wehe flows from south to north, is dammed up in the Wehebach dam and flows near Lamersdorf (today the municipality of Inden) from the right into the Inde. The Wehebach is the eponym of the locality Langerwehe. Since 2020 the slopes west of the stream have been part of the Hohes Venn-Eifel nature park ... "

Due to the favorable location and the advantageous resource situation of the valley, the water power of the stream has been used at least since the Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages, metal was processed in particular in what is now Schevenhütte, which also gave the place its name. In the area around Langerwehe and Luchen, there were mainly grain water mills.

Immediately after leaving the Wehebachtalsperre, the forest retreats to the valley slopes and the Wehebach takes up the Hüttsiefen from the left, runs through Schevenhütte from the left tributary of the Lamersiefens and then changes northwards at the lead mill from the town limits of Stolberg over to the Langerwehe municipal area .
