The Kreuzkirche is one of Dresden's many landmarks in the heart of the old town. On January 21, 1818, Caspar David Friedrich and Caroline Bommer, the daughter of a Dresden blue dyer, exchanged vows in the Dresden Kreuzkirche. Their children Emma Johanna and Agnes Adelheid as well as their son Gustav Adolf were also baptized here.

The Kreuzkirche on the Altmarkt in Dresden is the main Protestant church in the city. In addition to the cathedral in Meißen, it is also the preaching church of the regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony. With more than 3000 seats, the Kreuzkirche is the largest church in Saxony. The church impresses with its simplicity and when we were inside, we were rehearsing for the big organ concert that evening.
