The Fonte Benémola is a great destination for walking, hiking and picnicking.

Fruit and vegetable gardens, as well as the typical Barrocal landscape with holm, kermes and cork oaks and hills covered with rock roses line the path.
Down by the stream the vegetation becomes denser. There are said to be 300 plant species here - some that are not otherwise found in the Algarve

The water in the creek is crystal clear and provides a habitat for crabs and tritons, which can be observed very well from the concrete arrows placed to cross the creek.

As it is a considerably dry area, the Benémola fountain spring becomes even more special. The entire route is covered in plenty of vegetation - there are hundreds of plant species, more than any other area in the Algarve.
