Beautiful piece of the old city wall with the famous Geisbock.
The billy goat commemorates the legendary salvation of the city in 1461 when troops of Bavarian Duke Ludwig besieged it. A tailor had himself sewn into the skin of the last billy goat to show the enemy that there was an abundance of food. The besiegers are said to have given up their plan and the "hero in the goatskin" was celebrated as the savior of the city.
