The Chain Bridge is definitely a photo spot, with a beautiful view of the Main-Danube Canal, and about a 5-minute walk from Bamberg Train Station. Traffic-free area. Cars are allowed to drive over it in both directions, but only slowly.
There is seating and an ice cream parlor right at the beginning of the bridge.
The Chain Bridge is also a great start to walk along the Main-Danube Canal to Hirschaid, Forchheim, Erlangen, Fürth or Nuremberg.

The chain bridge was completed in 2010 after 22 months of construction. Looking south, you can see the Luitpold Bridge, looking north, you can see the Löwenbrücke.

Bridges have existed at this river crossing for centuries. The new chain bridge follows the tradition. It connects the gardener town with the island town. The supporting structure of the bridge consists of a polygon, constructed from chain links, repeating the idea of the historical bridge with the stone pylons by Leo von Klenze.
