be-MINE is the name for the renewed coal mine site of Beringen-Mijn. The renovation and repurposing is not quite finished yet. For example, work is being done on the second shaft and there are still a few buildings to go. In November 2022, a renewed permit application was also made for an allotment project on the site and an environmental permit was also applied for for the be-NATURE project. "That is a project for part of the former mining site, namely at the coal washing plants."
