As far as one can see from the sources, Ehreshoven was first mentioned in 1355. At that time, the poor Arnulphus de Graschap asked that the abbot transfer his mortgage with Ehreshoven to his father Heinrich von Grafschaft. This means that in 1355 a small castle, at least a permanent house, existed in Ehreshoven.
