The Gothic House, located on the outskirts of Bad Homburg in the Dornholzhausen district, is a former hunting lodge that has housed the city's cultural history museum since 1985.
Landgravine Elisabeth commissioned the construction of the Gothic House in the Neo-Gothic style for her husband, Landgrave Friedrich VI, beginning in 1823. The foundation stone was laid on April 17, 1823. The hunting lodge is situated at the end of Tannenwaldallee, which provides a direct connection between Bad Homburg Castle and the Gothic House, and was part of the Landgrave's gardens.
