Before 1206, the burgrave Heinrich II von Dohna had a castle built secretly and illegally on the Burgwartsberg - the Castell Thorun. The name Thorun can be a transfer from the time and area of the Crusades, since the burgrave Heinrich II von Dohna is said to have participated in the crusade in 1197/98. Thorun Castle, however, was on episcopal territory. It belonged to the diocese of Meißen and for years Bishop Diertrich II and the burgrave fought over the territory.

Thorun Castle was the subject of a court hearing in 1206 in a dispute between the Bishop of Meißen and the Burgrave of Dohna. The order for the demolition of the castle was laid down in a document in which the city of Dresden was mentioned in writing for the first time.
