In contrast to his wild and combative companions, this Centaur has a philanthropic disposition. The approximately two and a half meter high figure made of Schöna sandstone shows a mischievous smile, while his horse's body lies on the sandstone surface and the human body is erect and arms crossed. This figure emanates calm and peacefulness.

The sculpture above the Mordgrund Bridge was erected in 1902. It shows a centaur, a figure from Greek mythology, and was created by the sculptor Otto Petrenz. The figure of the wise centaur Cheiron, who learned the art of healing from Apollo and later trained Asklepios to be a doctor, is supposed to symbolize the nearby Lahmann sanatorium. Otto Petrenz, who temporarily lived in the Loschwitz Künstlerhaus, won an art prize in 1901 for his work of art.

The neo-baroque Kentaurus sculpture, a sculpture of a human horse, stands at the eastern entrance to Albertpark. The 118 hectare forest in the southwest of the Dresdner Heide was bought in 1899 by the city of Dresden with funds from the King Albert Foundation and converted into a nature park. Pay attention to the historical markings, for example when crossing the red-marked Weißiger Gänsefuß-Weg. Until 1890, the characters were still cut into the tree and painted in red. Only then did the red characters begin to be painted on a white surface.
