On the Ems cycle path to the left of the Ems through the Rheiderland, at Halt near the popular restaurant and hotel "Reiherhorst" you come to a beautiful vantage point on the dike, from where you have a wonderful view of the Meyer shipyard and the Papenburg harbor.
It is worth stopping for a few nice shots or just to let your eyes wander. As already mentioned, the restaurant right behind is an excellent recommendation.

Papenburg. Since September 2022, the district of Emsland has been fundamentally repairing the Emsbrücke near Halte/Papenburg as part of district road 158/K27 (Rheiderlandstraße). The bridge is located on the district border with the district of Leer.

The paths on the dike are very well developed and can also be used by children or in larger groups. You don't see the Ems because of the dike, of course, but there are crossings over the fence every few hundred meters. If no sheep are grazing on the section, you can take a little rest on the dike crown!
