Alyth is a pretty town on the southern slopes of the Forest of Alyth. With a history stretching back to the 11th century, there is lots to see, including quaint packhorse bridges and the crumbling remains of the first church, which now stand as a series of arches within the town. You will also find a good choice of accommodation and places to eat and drink.

First mentioned by name in the 12th century Alyth is a well-established and once important market town. There is a 17th century packhorse bridge and the remains of the old church known as Alyth Arches.
There are several accommodation options here if you want to base yourself in the area and also pubs and cafes for a mid-ride stop.

Helpful bike shop in Alyth. Plenty of car parking in town and just outside (Den of Alyth) makes for a good adventure start/finish point. And of course there are coffee outlets.
