The Nikolskoe log cabin dates back to the time of King Friedrich Wilhelm III. When he visited his daughter with her husband, Tsar Nicholas I, in Russia, he stayed in a Russian log cabin. So that the two could feel at home on future visits to Prussia, the king had the log cabin built according to Russian designs. Today it houses a rustic tourist restaurant.

The Blockhaus Nikolskoe (pronounced Nikolskoje, Никольское) is a beautiful excursion restaurant with a view of the Havel and the Peacock Island. However, at peak times it can be so busy that the waiters are a bit overwhelmed. You then have to accept longer waiting times. But the cake, for example, is very good.
