On the Bühberg in the southwest of Barbis there is a massive round tower about 10 meters high. This watch tower was probably built in the middle of the 14th century and was used to monitor the area. It was part of a border fortification between the Lutterberg-Scharzfeld Graftschaft and the Principality of Braunschweig-Grubenhagen.
Today the facility is very well maintained. There are among others a barbecue hut.
