As early as the middle of the 14th century, there was a chapel in the village where the "early masser" of Waldbach was on duty. This chapel with the Gothic net vault forms the choir tower of today's Church of St. Sebastian, which was built in 1481 and extended to the south in 1655; it stands in the middle of the walled churchyard. The chapel has been rebuilt and renovated several times. The church received its current appearance mainly through a reconstruction in 1804; the base of the tower is the oldest part of the building.
