The church was probably built as a chapel for the lords of the castle at the time. In any case, the tower dates from the 13th century and is in the east of the church. For this reason, its lower part serves as a chancel. In 1987, the so-called 'cow bell' because of its tinny sound was installed in the bell tower because the old bell had cracked for the second time and had to be removed. Today it is in the church garden.
